Replication II (2003)

I began this sculpture by attempting to cut a perfect rectangle from a 4”x4”x72” piece of wood. Then, I traced that initial form onto a second blank of wood and carefully attempted to cut a copy. The copy was then traced on a third wood blank, and I again attempted to cut a copy. The process was repeated with each successive piece of wood.
