20,158 Days (2007)

Acrylic on paper
15”x15”

Several works in this series are quite visually subtle and, while visible to the naked eye, nearly impossible to photograph. This particular piece was created by painting white acrylic marks on paper in an attempt to portray each day from a less subjective, more distant perspective. I was thinking, for example, of how insignificant our lives can seem when viewed in the context of all of human history or from the perspective of geologic time.
